Marisa Nickle is the Interim Director of Professional Learning Programs at GIX.
In her 10+ years at the University of Washington, Nickle launched and managed an international partnership for professional learning between the UW and Abu Dhabi and developed public-private partnerships to pursue regional solutions around sustainability, innovation and workforce development with partners Microsoft, Ford, INRIX, King County, the City of Seattle, WA State Dept. of Transportation, and Pacific Northwest National Labs. These efforts focused on developing the technology and workforce for electric vehicle infrastructure, solar energy, smart grid, and green buildings.
As Sr. Director of Strategy & Academic Initiatives Nickle has managed the UW’s strategic planning process and major initiatives launched as a result, and helped establish Academic & Student Affairs as a new unit in the provost’s office. Her work brings together partners to effect organizational transformation in areas such as student success and engagement, faculty innovation, administrative effectiveness and data governance.
Prior to the UW, Nickle taught at universities in Ecuador, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates where she participated in national efforts to transform education and establish new universities.
