UW-led Project Proposal

Propose a short-term (6-month) project for MSTI students starting autumn 2023.

Interested in having a talented, global, interdisciplinary team explore potential technology applications in support of your research? The UW Master of Science in Technology Innovation is opening a call for faculty, lab, or center sponsored projects for our interdisciplinary launch project program starting this summer.

Project Criteria

Projects must have a good balance of research, application, hardware, software development, design, and business model exploration to meet the program’s learning objectives. Note: Students will be matched to projects based on interest and fit.

  • Projects must have a good balance of advanced concepts and prototype development. Solutions should incorporate hardware/software and design, with the opportunity for business development.
  • Projects must permit students to do formative work and build out solutions.
  • Mentors must be able to dedicate at least one hour a week for advising, either in person or remotely.
  • Preference will be given to projects that strive to address an unmet social need (e.g., conservation, health, social equity, etc.)

Questions? Contact Linda Wagner, Academic Program Director, or John Raiti, to discuss your proposal, topic, or project scope.
