Meet Our Consortium

The GIX Consortium comprises companies and non-profit organizations that partner with MSTI students and faculty to solve real-world problems. Consortium members propose challenging projects that MSTI students and mentors from sponsoring organizations apply design thinking, technology development, and business skills to solve.

Industry + Students

Watch how Vulcan, Inc., and MSTI students work together to leverage technology to improve human communication. Students and engineers work as a team, with each learning and iterating with the other. This innovative format gives students the ability to learn from industry professionals, but also brings new perspectives and talent from students.

Vulcan, Inc. was created by Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen and works to be catalysts for change.

As senior engineers, we have inherant biases. By having a fresh pair of eyes and a new generation of students coming out into the working force, they can actually influence things in ways that we never imagined.
