The winners of 2018 GIX Innovation Competition were announced shortly after the finals event took place in Beijing last Sunday, August 26th.

Running for its third year in a row, the GIX Innovation Competition strives to spur innovative solutions to local and global challenges. Competing teams, comprised of students, inventors, and entrepreneurs, are required to design and develop impactful solutions in future-forward fields, some of which include, education, environmental protection, healthcare, transportation, fitness, entertainment, information accessibility, and more.

Out of the five GIX student-led teams to qualify for the finals, four ranked in third place, including RoboDog, Miirabella, DyVA (Dynamic Voice Authentication), and New Hab.

Ranked in first place, the winning project was Air Faucet System. Air Faucet System subverts traditional ways of water utilization by using self-developed low-pressure, high-efficiency atomization technology. All up, the water-saving rate reaches as high as 90%, while also providing a comfortable user experience. Prior to the competition, Air Faucet System won several awards, including the only Gold Medal of the 2nd Global Grand Challenge Summit and the highest Gold Medal and Special Prize of the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva.

A big congratulations goes out to all of the winners!
